Harmony Baptist Church Leadership

Harmony Baptist Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Lee Herring

Minister of Music

Lee is a Covington County native who graduated from Straughn High School in 2019. He has attended Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL for the last four years studying Music Education. He is looking forward to graduating in May 2023. Lee married his wife Christina on May 20, 2022 and are living in the Rose Hill area as the 5th generation tending family land.

Lee previously served as the Minister of Music for Bethel Baptist church in Opp. Lee was a member of Good News Baptist since he was born. He was a choir member at Good News Baptist church for several years. Lee participated in the string band and quartet in high school and band since middle school.

Lee also loves working with youth, he went to Camp Victory in Samson, AL since he was in the 3rd grade. He became a volunteer worker after he got to high school then, he became a counselor for a whole summer before going to college. He has also lead many small group devotionals, been a leader in Good News' youth group activities and retreats, and spoke to different youth groups.

Lee was called to Harmony in October of '22 after much prayer and council was sought. He serves as the head of the Music Department and loves what he does. "Interacting with people and spreading the gospel through music is a joy and a blessing that I get to share with the choir and congregation. Music is truly a universal language."

"It is evident that God had brought Christina and I to Harmony to bring glory and honor to Him. If we only listen when we're called, we become blessed beyond measure. We are truly thankful for the dedication of the congregation at HBC to further the Kingdom of God!"

Scott Donaldson

Senior Pastor

Meet the Pastor

Scott Donaldson

I am a native of Opp, Alabama and 1982 graduate of Opp High School. My Wife Tammy and I currently reside in the Weed Community approximately 7 miles south of Brantley, Alabama.

We are excited to be part of the Harmony family. My goals are simple; serve the Lord with gladness, preach the Word and love the people. I believe in the Sovereignty of the God of Creation and trust Him to the rest.

In addition to ministry, I have been blessed to do many things throughout my life. These include marketing representative for Paulk Grocery Co in Opp, AL, business owner in Crenshaw County and Career Specialist at Highland Home High School. However, the things I am most proud of is my ongoing and growing relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and my ever deepening love and relationship with my precious, wonderful wife Tammy. She is my best friend and partner in all life matters. God is so GOOD!

Diane Blocker

Preschool Director

Diane is a native of North Carolina, but has lived in many areas of the USA as well as Seoul, S. Korea while her husband, William, served 26 years in the US Air Force.

Since college, she has worked with children in such positions as GA leader, Sunday School teacher, VBS director, and in Discipleship Training. Currently, she loves serving at Harmony as the Preschool Director.

Her favorite moments are watching children learn that God loves them more than they can imagine and that they can talk to God about ANYTHING-“even their hurt puppies.”

She also enjoys mentoring and working with the Preschool teachers and helping them love the children through teaching them God’s Word.

She has 2 children and 2 grandchildren, and loves spending time with her family, reading and assembling LEGOS!
